User Report Etimark
The packaging printer Etimark has been a long-standing uTraxx customer and has further developed the software in-house to fit the company perfectly.
«Delivering perfection every day.» The quality standards that packaging printer Etimark sets for itself are high. The company supplies self-adhesive labels, sealing lids, and printed films – mainly to producers in the food and beverage, cosmetics, and chemical industries. These types of packaging are subject to strict hygiene regulations, and like the entire printing industry, Etimark faces intense cost pressure. «A high degree of automation in production and a simple, intuitive ERP system are extremely important to us,» says Etimark Managing Director Marco Schulz. While he is responsible for finance and IT, his brother and co-managing director Udo Schulz oversees sales and marketing.
Automated Claims Management
At Etimark, all processes – from order entry, customer data management, scheduling, materials management and logistics to production – are handled via the uTraxx ERP system. Etimark has been a long-standing customer and is “very satisfied” with the solution. «We use all of the system’s functions,» says Marco Schulz. He has developed many of the applications himself, which was made easy by the flexible platform and user-friendly development environment in the background.
The comparative costing function is designed to determine the printing process that offers the best balance between price and quality. «Our goal is always cost-optimised production,» says Marco Schulz.
In addition, for supplying the food industry, complete traceability of materials, inks, and packaging is an essential requirement. «For every printed product, we can trace exactly when the batch was produced and which raw materials were used by means of a unique code.» Claims management and internal system deviations are handled automatically via uTraxx.

Modern UV Flexo Printing
Sealing lids – for dairy or other food products – labels for beverage bottles, or flexible packaging: Etimark AG offers a broad product range. Materials are printed and finished according to customer requirements: aluminium, PET, or paper composites for lids; paper, films, or plastics for labels. Printing is done either digitally or using modern UV flexo printing, a solvent-free process that cures environmentally friendly inks with cutting-edge LED technology.
If needed, Etimark’s in-house design department creates or optimises layouts and print templates. If the right die-cutting tool is missing, it is custom-made. Finishing requests are handled using integrated stations for screen printing, laminating, lamination bonding, and hot foil stamping.
Patented Yoghurt Lid
Over the past two decades, under the leadership of the Schulz brothers, Etimark has invested in a new production facility and a state-of-the-art machine park. The company now operates nine high-performance die-cutting machines, a next-generation digital press, and four UV flexo printing presses. “This enables us to handle jobs of any scale at the highest quality,” says Udo Schulz.
Their drive for innovation is also reflected in their patented in-house development, ETIgral® – a yoghurt lid made of aluminium featuring a specially embossed edge. This allows for smooth separation in the filling line and becomes virtually invisible after sealing.

Recycling and Photovoltaics
Etimark also upholds high environmental standards. Die-cut waste is collected fully automatically and sent for recycling, and inks are prepared in exactly the required quantities to avoid excess. In 2020, a photovoltaic system covering 1,300 square metres was installed. It supplies 265,000 kilowatt-hours per year – equivalent to the annual consumption of 50 to 60 single-family homes.
Heating requirements are covered via district heating from the local waste incineration plant. Last but not least, the energy-efficient design of the uTraxx software helps ensure that power consumption remains at an optimised technical level.
Swiss Family Business with a Strong Export Focus
Etimark AG, based in Grabs, Switzerland, was founded in 1978 by Ulrich Schulz and is now run by the second generation – brothers Udo and Marco Schulz. The company specialises in printing labels and sealing lids. 60% of its products are exported to the EU. Etimark employs 60 staff.
